Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and interactive half-day language programs (8:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.) for business professionals at the University of Maryland in College Park, MD.
- Teach professional development materials in Spanish to ensure full comprehension and help students confidently apply concepts in English business settings.
- Draw on your own professional and real-world experiences to provide relatable, practical examples that enrich classroom discussions.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and encouraging learning environment that supports student participation and curiosity.
- Facilitate both Spanish and English discussions, encouraging critical thinking and active communication.
- Take and record daily attendance accurately.
- Assess and document student progress, providing timely, constructive feedback to support continued improvement.
- Encourage the development of students’ critical thinking, problem-solving, and cross-cultural communication skills.
- Collaborate with other instructors and program staff to maintain a consistent, supportive, and safe learning environment.
- Represent the organization with professionalism, enthusiasm, and integrity at all times.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- 3–5 years of teaching experience, preferably in adult education or professional development settings.
- Candidates will be asked to prepare and deliver a 15-minute demo lesson using instructional materials of their choice. The lesson should be engaging, well-structured, and professionally presented, showcasing the candidate’s teaching style, creativity, and ability to connect with adult learners.
- Native or fluent proficiency in Spanish with strong command of English (both verbal and written).
- Demonstrated ability to adapt teaching style to new instructional materials and diverse learner needs.
- Experience teaching at the higher education level or working with adult learners preferred.
- Solid understanding of educational development principles, teaching methodologies, and classroom management best practices.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills to foster an engaging and supportive learning environment.
- Professional, reliable, and enthusiastic, with a genuine passion for teaching and cultural exchange.
- Strong problem-solving, verbal, and oral communication skills.
