Chief Lending Officer - Lake Michigan Credit Union

Position Summary

Lake Michigan Credit Union (LMCU) is seeking an accomplished and visionary Chief Lending Officer (CLO) to join its Executive Leadership Team. The CLO will provide strategic direction, leadership, and oversight of all lending operations—including real estate, commercial, and consumer portfolios—ensuring they align with LMCU’s purpose of helping members achieve their financial goals while driving sustainable growth, asset quality, and compliance. This highly visible executive will guide long-term lending strategies, champion innovative products and services, and serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO, leadership team, and Board on lending performance, risks, and opportunities. In addition to driving loan growth and maintaining sound credit risk management, the CLO will cultivate strong relationships with members, business clients, regulators, and community leaders, representing LMCU in the industry and serving as an ambassador in local and national forums. The ideal candidate will bring 10–15 years of progressive leadership experience in lending, with a demonstrated track record of managing diverse portfolios, fostering strong client relationships, and enhancing organizational reputation. A bachelor’s degree is required, with a master’s degree preferred. The CLO will be a strategic thinker, innovative leader, and collaborative partner who inspires teams, champions diversity and inclusion, and strengthens LMCU’s position as a trusted financial partner in the communities we serve.
