What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mortgage Loan Originator position at D&H Lending?
Sr. Mortgage Loan Originator – Origination Team
D&H Lending (NMLS #329429)
We’re excited to announce a new opening on the Origination Team at D&H Lending.
Founded in 2005 and located in Dallas, TX, D&H Lending is a mortgage banker built on long-term relationships, a proven sales model, and a highly engaged processing and operations team. We’re a small, tight-knit group with an exceptional reputation—and we’re intentionally looking to add one experienced Loan Originator who is the right fit.
This is a full-time role designed for a seasoned RMLO with a strong track record and established referral relationships. Possibly more important, we seek someone who can also successfully work company paid leads, inbound inquiries, and owner hand-off's. This is not a traditional outside LO, call-center, or net-branch opportunity. You’ll have meaningful support, influence, and access to company-provided leads and referrals —along with the expectation that you can convert them.
About the Role
You’ll originate loans through a combination of:
- Self-sourced business from existing relationships, and
- Company-provided leads, including paid leads, direct inquiries, and owner hand-offs.
Our goal is to support you in growing your referral volume and help you originate consistent company-sourced production.
The ideal candidate brings deep origination knowledge, strong inside and outside sales skills, and thrives in a collaborative environment. We value people who are friendly, laid-back, sharp, organized, honest, trustworthy, and hardworking—someone who communicates well, embraces technology, multitasks effectively, and is simply a good teammate and person.
Responsibilities
- Call and engage borrower leads (purchase and refinance)
- Educate borrowers on D&H Lending, loan products, guidelines, disclosures, rates, and costs
- Originate both self-sourced and company-sourced loans
- Manage and leverage a highly customizable CRM and existing database
- Prepare detailed quotes and Loan Estimates
- Review applications, credit, and documentation to determine eligibility
- Guide borrowers through the loan process with clear and realistic expectations
- Submit lock requests and provide market and rate guidance
- Obtain customer reviews and address concerns professionally
- Build and maintain referral relationships (realtors, builders, etc.)
- Be positive, organized, responsive, and supportive to both clients and teammates
Qualifications
- Active Texas NMLS-licensed RMLO with 3–5 years of recent experience
- Strong knowledge of loan products (conventional, government, jumbo, etc.)
- Solid understanding of guidelines, documentation, and lending practices
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and multitasking skills
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- Comfortable with technology and CRM systems; able to learn new tools quickly
- 4-year college degree preferred (may be waived with relevant experience)
- Strong understanding of market trends and rate drivers
