Duties

• Read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine glass specifications and installation procedures.
• Measure dimensions accurately using tools such as tape measures, calipers, and other measurement devices to ensure precise fitting of glass components.
• Handle glass materials safely using appropriate lifting techniques and hand tools; perform heavy lifting when necessary.
• Install windows, doors, glass panels, fixtures, cabinets, and metal or wood framing with attention to detail and quality standards.
• Use power tools and hand tools for cutting, shaping, assembling, and securing glass materials in various construction settings.
• Perform fabrication and manufacturing of custom glass pieces as needed for remodeling or specialized projects.
• Apply caulking, trim carpentry, and construction painting techniques to complete finished surfaces; ensure proper sealing and finishing for durability.
• Conduct quality control measurements during installation to verify alignment, levelness, and overall fit; make adjustments as necessary.
• Assist in remodeling projects by installing fixtures, cabinetry, metal stud framing, or performing handyman tasks related to glass installation.
• Maintain safety protocols at all times on the construction site while handling glass materials and operating power tools.

Skills

• Extensive experience with construction estimating to assess project scope and material needs accurately.
• Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and construction plans for precise execution.
• Skilled in using hand tools such as chisels, screwdrivers, putty knives alongside power tools including drills and saws.
• Strong knowledge of window installation techniques and door hanging processes for secure fitment.
• Ability to handle glass materials safely while performing fabrication or installation tasks; understanding of glass handling protocols.
• Experience with measurement (quality control) ensuring all installations meet specified dimensions and standards.
• Familiarity with construction site safety practices including heavy lifting procedures and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Capable of interpreting technical drawings related to metal stud framing or fixture installation within construction environments.
• Knowledge of caulking techniques for weatherproofing and sealing installations effectively.
• Background in carpentry—particularly trim carpentry—and remodeling work that complements glass installation projects.
• Experience with metal fabrication or manufacturing processes relevant to custom glass components or fixtures.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret schematics quickly on-site for efficient project completion.
• Excellent teamwork skills with a hands-on approach; adaptable to various project requirements including handyman tasks or renovation projects.
