The Position
The Project Executive will oversee and guide a portfolio of construction projects as part of our broader leadership team. These projects may include multifamily rehabs (primarily occupied), historic restorations, new ground-up builds, and commercial developments. This senior-level role requires extensive experience across multiple construction types and a demonstrated ability to lead project managers to achieve excellence in execution and delivery.
The ideal candidate will provide strategic direction, foster collaboration, and ensure the successful delivery of assigned projects while contributing to the overall success of the organization’s construction program.
- Provide strategic leadership and oversight across all phases of construction to ensure on-time, on-budget, high-quality, and safe delivery.
- Develop and execute project plans and goals across diverse construction types.
- Supervise and mentor project managers, superintendents, and engineers to foster accountability and growth.
- Monitor project performance, identify and mitigate risks, and implement solutions to maintain progress.
- Oversee change management, claims avoidance, and dispute resolution while ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Champion a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement across all teams.
- Optimize project delivery through effective use of systems (e.g., Procore) for reporting, forecasting, and document control.
- Lead business development efforts, including proposals, client relations, and contract negotiations.
- Provide executive oversight during preconstruction, reviewing constructability, value engineering, and logistics strategies.
- Collaborate with leadership to align resources, drive innovation, and develop high-performing teams.
What’s Required by You
The ideal candidate will have a passionate commitment to managing complex projects and be personable, proactive, and organized. You will have:
- Minimum 15 years’ of experience in construction management, with demonstrated expertise in multifamily rehabs, new builds, and commercial projects. And a minimum of 5 years’ experience overseeing multiple project teams concurrently.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, building codes, and safety regulations
- Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale, diverse construction projects
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Strong financial acumen and experience with contract negotiations
- Proficiency in project management software and MS Office Suite
- Experience with Procore construction management software is a huge plus
Must be local to the San Francisco Bay Area and able to visit job sites on a regular basis. Familiarity with local construction markets and contractors is a plus. No relocation assistance will be offered. This position does not offer remote or work from home opportunities.
