Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Estimator with a minimum of 2 years' experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction estimating and project management, with the ability to analyze project specifications and prepare accurate cost estimates. This role is crucial in ensuring that projects are completed within budget and on schedule while maintaining high standards of quality.
Duties
- Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates.
- Utilize software tools such as Bluebeam and excel for takeoffs and pricing calculations.
- Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to gather necessary information for accurate estimates.
- Conduct negotiations with subcontractors to secure competitive pricing.
- Prepare detailed reports that outline the estimated costs, including labor, materials, equipment, and overhead.
- Assist in contract preparation and management, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
- Provide support during the bidding process by evaluating bids from subcontractors and suppliers.
Experience
- Proven experience in construction estimating or a related field is essential.
- Familiarity with construction management practices and principles.
- Strong knowledge of cost control methods and pricing strategies within the construction industry.
- Experience working on construction sites is preferred to understand practical implications of estimates.
- Excellent negotiation skills to effectively communicate with vendors and subcontractors.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in all estimates.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Pay and compensation will be based on experience.
