What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dance Teacher position at D'Antono Dance Academy?
Overview
In search of an experienced dance instructor to join our studio for next year. Looking in advance to make sure we find the right fit :). A small studio with both a competitive and recreational program entering our 10th year. Focus on a positive environment for both staff and dancers, and continuing to bring our love of dance to our students.
Duties
- Classes available in any of the following styles: ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, acro, hip hop, contemporary, lyrical, modern, pom.
- Lead energetic and motivating dance classes that emphasize proper technique, posture, and artistic interpretation.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively to maintain a positive and focused learning environment. Ability to work with multiple age levels is a plus.
- Provide classes that include warm-ups, skill-building exercises, choreography practice.
- Provide personalized tutoring and feedback to help students improve their technique and performance skills.
- Maintain a safe classroom environment by implementing behavior management strategies and adhering to safety guidelines.
- Stay updated on current trends in dance education and adapt lesson plans accordingly to keep classes lively and relevant.
Qualifications
- Experience in dance and/or teaching dance across age groups.
- Have an overall knowledge of styles and ability to teach foundational techniques.
- Ability to implement studio curriculum development; class planning for end of year goals and student growth.
- Classroom management skills with the ability to foster a positive learning atmosphere.
- Experience in competitive dance is a plus.
Pay: $ $45.00 per hour
