Job Summary:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated English teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for teaching English to students in grade 8, developing engaging curriculum, and fostering a love for literature and language arts. The candidate should be committed to creating a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and personal growth, and be skilled in addressing the diverse needs of students.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences.
Develop schemes of work and lesson plans in accordance with established curriculum objectives.
Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
Prepare the classroom for class activities.
Provide a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities.
Identify and select different instructional resources and methods to meet students' varying needs.
Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment.
Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction.
Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures.
Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of the school.
Provide appropriate feedback on work.
Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use information to adjust teaching strategies.
Maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development.
Update all necessary records accurately and completely as required by laws, district policies, and school regulations.
Prepare required reports on students and activities.
Participate in department, school, district, and parent meetings.
Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues, and parents regarding student progress and student needs.
Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
Implement instructional activities that contribute to a climate where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences.
Identify, select, and modify instructional resources to meet the needs of students with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs.
Assist in assessing changing curricular needs and offer plans for improvement.
Maintain effective and efficient record-keeping procedures.
Provide a positive environment in which students are encouraged to be actively engaged in the learning process.
Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with students, parents, and other professionals on a regular basis.
Collaborate with peers to enhance the instructional environment.
Model professional and ethical standards when dealing with students, parents, peers, and the community.
Ensure that student growth and achievement is continuous and appropriate for age group, subject area, and/or program classification.
