We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Optometric Technician to join our high-end optometry practice, equipped with cutting-edge technology. As an Optometric Technician, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional eye care services to our discerning clientele. You will work closely with our optometrists and support staff to provide comprehensive pre-examination procedures, perform advanced diagnostic tests, and assist in patient education and eyewear selection.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct preliminary assessments and screenings for patients, including measuring visual acuity, intraocular pressure, and visual field testing.
- Administer advanced diagnostic tests, such as corneal topography, optical coherence tomography (OCT), and retinal imaging.
- Collaborate with optometrists to collect patient history and record pertinent information accurately.
- Assist with contact lens fittings, including measurements, insertion, and removal instructions, and basic troubleshooting.
- Educate patients on proper eye care practices, contact lens hygiene, and eyewear options.
- Maintain and operate state-of-the-art optometric equipment, ensuring accuracy and precision.
- Manage patient flow efficiently and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Collaborate with the optical team to help patients choose frames and lenses that meet their visual and style preferences.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in optometric technology or related fields preferred.
- Proven experience as an Optometric Technician or similar role.
- Proficient in performing basic optometric tests and operating diagnostic equipment.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems and computer proficiency.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and colleagues.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions.
- Demonstrated ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of current eyewear trends and lens technologies is a plus.
