This position involves assisting optometrists during examinations, managing patient records, and ensuring a smooth workflow in the office. The Optometric Technician will also be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized environment while adhering to all health regulations.
Responsibilities
- Assist optometrists during eye examinations by preparing patients and equipment.
- Perform preliminary tests, including visual acuity assessments and ocular measurements.
- Document patient history and maintain accurate medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Manage front desk operations, including scheduling appointments and handling patient inquiries.
- Educate patients on proper contact lens care and eyewear options.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic, ensuring adherence to aseptic techniques.
- Support sales of optical products by providing knowledgeable recommendations based on patient needs.
- Operate electronic health record systems
Requirements
- Experience in a medical office or clinic setting preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on customer service.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while maintaining professionalism.
- Previous experience in front desk operations is advantageous.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and procedures
