Payroll Analyst
Location: Los Angeles, CA 90038
Onsite Monday through Friday at 5555 Melrose Ave
Hours are 9:00am to 6:00pm
Overview
We are hiring a Payroll Analyst to support a high-volume payroll team during a major Oracle testing initiative. This role is heavily focused on payroll adjustments, SAP payroll support work, data accuracy, schedule updates, garnishments, and deadline-driven project support in a fast-paced environment.
This is a fully onsite role and requires someone who can work with urgency, adapt quickly to shifting priorities, and handle payroll processing with strong attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Support payroll operations during Oracle testing activities
- Perform SAP payroll adjustments, payroll data entry, and schedule updates
- Assist with payroll-related project work tied to strict deadlines
- Handle garnishment processing and employee payroll issue resolution
- Audit and reconcile HR and payroll data for accuracy
- Support payroll processing across union and non-union employee groups
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
- Reconcile payroll integration and bank files
- Generate ad hoc payroll reports for internal stakeholders
- Respond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies
- Partner with HR and IT teams on payroll-related support
- Participate in testing for payroll system upgrades and tax updates
Qualifications
- 3 years of payroll experience in a large company environment
- Experience working in fast-paced payroll operations with competing deadlines
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills including VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, and formulas
- Experience with SAP Employee Central Payroll (ECP) or another major HCM/payroll system strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of payroll processes and HR/payroll data relationships
- Experience handling garnishments preferred
- Union payroll exposure is highly preferred
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive employee information
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
- Must be reliable for full-time onsite work and flexible for overtime as needed
Interview Process
- Second round onsite interview includes a timed Excel assessment covering pivot tables, formulas, and reporting functions
Pay Range
- $42.74/hr. - $47.74/hr.
