Posture: Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting
Motion: Repetitive hand motions, frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional
reaching
Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds)
Environment: Frequent district-wide travel
Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress

- Bachelor’s degree from a recognized, accredited college or university;
- Master’s Degree from a recognized, accredited, college or university preferred;
- Texas certification in special education;
- Texas certification in elementary or secondary education preferred;
- Minimum of three (3) years of successful teaching experience as a certified special education teacher preferred;
- Demonstrated skill in leading, motivating, coaching, and collaborating with teachers.

- Coach campus/district staff in implementation of behavioral strategies and interventions which results in positive student behavior.
- Assist individual teachers with developing structured and direct teaching strategies/interventions that result in positive student behavior.
- Assist teachers/campus staff with the development of effective and measurable behavior intervention plans (BIP) and behavioral goals.
- Assist with development of individual programs for students with behavioral concerns.
- Assist teachers and campus staff to collect and monitor IEP data.
- Provide direct support to staff with students who demonstrate chronic behavioral needs.
- Conduct district-wide staff development.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function.
