QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Master's degree or higher from an accredited college or university;
2. Certification as an Educational Diagnostician or Licensed Specialist in School Psychology;
3. Certification in an area of Special Education preferred;
4. Minimum four (4) years of successful experience serving as a diagnostician (or equivalent);
5. Demonstrated skill in leading and motivating others.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Probationary/Term Contract: 205 days
SALARY:
IA-3: $70,387
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Has extensive knowledge of and can perform all duties of a diagnostician.
- Provide all training for new diagnosticians (including about 17 meetings during the year, 4 full days at the beginning of the school year, and ongoing visits, consultation, and monitoring).
- Attend/facilitate ARDs as assigned.
- Test students as assigned.
- Plan and implement training on current legal issues, assessment practices, job role responsibilities, and technology.
- Provide consultation, support, and monitoring of diagnostician staff.
- Document all department procedures and guidelines for the Diagnostician Handbook and revise yearly.
- Plan and implement training of new clerical assistants for diagnostician/speech pathologists.
- Observe new diagnosticians in ARDs and in test administration.
- Plan and implement presentations for professional development days, department staff meetings, and other professional development opportunities.
- Attend local and state-level training opportunities and professional conferences.
- Assist with end-of-year checkout procedures for diagnosticians.
- Collect data for state reports as assigned (State Performance Plan).
- Monitor and audit data for October Count.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function.
