Lead Control Center Operator

The Role Cypress Creek Renewables is seeking a highly motivated candidate to lead the monitoring and the day-to-day operation of a rapidly growing portfolio of utility-scale PV & storage facilities. The Lead Control Center Operator will support individuals responsible for continuous real-time monitoring and control of Solar Facility safety, reliability, and output. The candidate will be trained in the essential knowledge and skills necessary to monitor and operate utility-scale solar generation facilities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Assist Control Center Supervisor in leading the team members responsible for 24/7 monitoring and operations of numerous solar & storage facilities. Assist in the training and continuous improvement of personnel and processes utilized within the control center. Coordinates staff to ensure proper execution of job responsibilities of the individual and proper execution of company objectives. Assist with inclement weather incident response. Respond to DAS Alerts, and abnormal facility conditions via remote operations and alert appropriate parties. Act as point of contact for field technicians, remote plant operators, utilities, and operators regarding performance, control, and schedules for solar & storage facilities. Responsible for maintaining availability levels at each solar facility as well as following curtailment directives. Perform daily reporting of solar facility performance. Data analysis of underperforming systems. Aid field technicians with system troubleshooting and provide routine dispatch. Preferred Education and/or Work Experience: A.S. or B.S. in a technical field of study. Knowledge of power generation design or operations. Knowledge of ERCOT Interconnection – ERCOT Trading. Knowledge of PV systems, including DC systems, AC medium voltage systems, and network communications and monitoring. Diagnostic capabilities to troubleshoot and correct problems found via DAS. Ability to read and understand electrical single-line and three-line diagrams. Proficiency with MS Office suite. Experience working with a CMMS platform (preferably for operations and maintenance of power generation facilities). Experience working with DAS. Other Requirements/Work Environment: Work is to be performed in an office environment. This position is hourly with an expected workload of 40 hours per week. 4, 10-hour shifts per week, including weekends. Once a quarter, the lead operator is expected to work 3-4 Night shifts. Location: The preferred location for this role is Durham, NC. Additionally, we are on a hybrid schedule 4/days a week and also include weekends.
