Vice President – Tax
Location: Jersey City, NJ (Hybrid)
Our client, a leading global financial services firm, is seeking a Vice President – Tax. This role offers the opportunity to lead complex tax compliance and reporting initiatives across hedge funds and fund-of-funds, while working closely with clients, auditors, and cross-functional teams around the world.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage tax compliance and reporting for hedge funds and fund-of-funds, including preparation and review of Forms 1065, K-1s, and related schedules (L, M1, M2, M3).
- Oversee international tax filings such as Forms 8865, 8858, 8621, and 5471.
- Address withholding tax matters, including Forms 8804, 8805, 1042, and 1042-S, and analyze partner documentation (W-8/W-9 series).
- Review complex partnership allocations and book-to-tax analyses to support accurate filings and K-1 disclosures.
- Conduct technical research to determine appropriate tax treatments and ensure compliance with U.S. federal and international tax laws.
- Collaborate with global offices and provide mentorship, training, and oversight to tax staff.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field; CPA strongly preferred.
- 5 years of relevant experience in hedge fund or fund-of-funds tax compliance, ideally within a public accounting or fund administration environment.
- Strong knowledge of partnership taxation, allocation methodologies, and fund structures.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, with a high attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Investran or similar software is a plus.
Salary : $150,000 - $225,000
