We are seeking a Sensor Applications Engineer to support the installation, integration, and validation of sensor systems on gas turbine engines. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on engineering work and collaborating across teams to bring complex test setups to life.
You’ll play a key role in defining installation methods, developing instrumentation layouts, and ensuring accurate data collection from both rotating and static engine components.
Key Responsibilities- Define and develop sensor installation methods, including routing schemes for wiring and instrumentation systems
- Coordinate with Component Centers and cross-functional engineering teams to ensure proper access, requirements, and integration
- Create design models, layouts, and drawings to support fabrication and installation
- Collaborate with multiple engineering disciplines to deliver integrated solutions
- Develop and implement design solutions that meet technical and test requirements
- Communicate design intent and results to internal stakeholders and Integrated Product Team (IPT) leaders
- Document work through Design Substantiation Memos (DSMs) and detailed layout drawings
- Support instrumentation setup for engine testing and data acquisition systems
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (or equivalent experience); Associate’s degree in a related technical field considered
- 0–10 years of relevant experience (entry-level candidates with strong internships or senior design projects encouraged to apply)
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and engineering documentation
- Understanding of basic engineering principles, test methods, and process flows
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with flight test instrumentation or sensor applications
- Hands-on experience with strain gage installation, wiring, or instrumentation systems
- Familiarity with gas turbine engines or aerospace testing environments
- Exposure to data acquisition systems and instrumentation calibration
- Work on cutting-edge aerospace engine programs
- Gain hands-on experience with real-world engine testing and instrumentation
- Collaborate with experienced engineering teams in a highly technical environment
