IPT Project Engineer – QN Team

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced IPT Project Engineer to support the QN Team in Middletown, CT. This role combines traditional QN Project Engineering responsibilities with a stronger emphasis on Integrated Product Team (IPT) leadership, cross-functional coordination, and hands-on on-site execution support within a fast-paced aerospace manufacturing and engineering environment.
The ideal candidate will serve as a key interface between engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and program stakeholders to drive issue resolution, support production priorities, and ensure successful execution of quality notifications (QNs), dispositions, and related project deliverables.
This position requires strong project ownership, technical coordination skills, and the ability to work directly on-site with internal teams to drive closure of complex aerospace manufacturing and quality-related activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate IPT activities supporting QN execution and closure efforts.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration between Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Operations, and Program teams.
- Manage and track QN-related action items, schedules, risks, and deliverables to ensure timely execution.
- Support investigation, disposition, and resolution of non-conformances and production issues.
- Facilitate daily execution activities and provide hands-on support to on-site operations teams in Middletown, CT.
- Coordinate engineering changes, technical reviews, and implementation activities impacting production hardware.
- Prepare and communicate program status updates, recovery plans, risks, and escalation items to leadership and stakeholders.
- Monitor production and hardware delivery schedules to ensure alignment with customer and program milestones.
- Support RCCA (Root Cause Corrective Action) activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Partner with quality and manufacturing teams to support first-time yield improvement and reduction of recurring issues.
- Maintain a high level of urgency, accountability, and customer focus in support of aerospace production operations.
- Drive closure of open technical and operational issues within required timelines.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related technical discipline.
- 5 years of experience in aerospace manufacturing, quality, project engineering, or IPT leadership roles.
- Experience supporting cross-functional aerospace production or engineering programs.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, quality processes, and engineering coordination.
- Experience managing action items, schedules, risks, and technical deliverables within a project-driven environment.
- Ability to lead discussions and coordinate across multiple functional organizations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interface directly with customers and leadership teams.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools including Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
- U.S. Citizenship required due to program requirements.
- Ability to work onsite in Middletown, CT.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting Quality Notification (QN) processes within aerospace or defense environments.
- Familiarity with dispositioning, non-conformance management, MRB processes, and production issue resolution.
- Experience in an IPT Lead, Project Engineer, or Manufacturing Program Lead capacity.
- Knowledge of aerospace quality standards and regulated manufacturing environments.
- Experience supporting engine programs, rotating hardware, or aerospace component manufacturing.
- Familiarity with SAP, Teamcenter, Solumina, or related aerospace manufacturing systems.
- Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience.

Work Environment

Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
