Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Source Inspector with a strong background in aerospace supplier quality. This role is responsible for performing source inspections at supplier facilities, ensuring compliance with material, process, and dimensional requirements, and supporting supplier performance improvement. The position also contributes to ongoing quality assurance efforts and internal reporting for leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct source inspections at supplier facilities, ensuring all material and process certifications are complete, accurate, and compliant.
- Verify that all required dimensional inspections are performed and recorded in accordance with current standards (e.g., GSS2188 – latest revision).
- Process Supplier Submission Requests (SRIs) and Quality Notifications (QNs) as they are received.
- Generate monthly supplier scorecards capturing on-time delivery, quality defects, escapes, and performance trends.
- Partner with suppliers to identify areas of underperformance and build actionable improvement plans; track progress to closure.
- Prepare monthly supplier performance summaries for internal leadership.
- Support onsite quality and delivery issue resolution.
- Assist in evaluating and updating quality standards to align with business and program requirements.
- Contribute to developing standards for drop-shipment processes and Delegated Quality Representative (DQR) vendor requirements.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship required due to ITAR restrictions.
- 5 years of experience in aerospace quality, source inspection, supplier quality engineering, or precision manufacturing inspection.
- Strong knowledge of material certifications, process specifications, dimensional inspection requirements, and aerospace documentation standards.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T.
- Experience processing supplier nonconformances (QNs, SRIs) and leading supplier corrective action initiatives.
- Solid understanding of supplier performance metrics and scorecarding.
- Strong communication skills for interfacing with suppliers and internal leadership.
- Ability to travel regularly to supplier sites as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with GSE components, tooling inspection, or complex mechanical assemblies.
- Familiarity with GSS standards, AS9100, NADCAP, or other aerospace quality systems.
- Prior involvement supporting high-volume or critical-path aerospace production programs.
- Experience creating concise and data-driven reports for leadership review.
Pay: $30.00 - $32.00 per hour
