Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Director of Product Management to lead product strategy, product operations, and team development for a growing enterprise software organization focused on cloud technologies, AI-driven solutions, and infrastructure modernization.
This role will be responsible for establishing and scaling a world-class product management function from the ground up. The ideal candidate has successfully built product management processes, frameworks, and teams in high-growth environments and possesses deep experience in enterprise B2B software, cloud technologies, and AI-enabled products.
The Director of Product Management will partner closely with Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and Executive Leadership to drive product vision, roadmap execution, customer-centric innovation, and organizational alignment.
Key Responsibilities
Product Management Practice Development
- Build and institutionalize product management processes, standards, and operating frameworks.
- Establish repeatable methodologies for customer discovery, market research, product intake, prioritization, roadmap planning, and product delivery.
- Develop PM team onboarding programs, role expectations, career development frameworks, and best practices.
- Create standardized templates, documentation processes, and governance structures to ensure consistency across the product organization.
Product Discovery & Customer Insights
- Develop structured customer research programs, including customer interviews, feedback collection, win/loss analysis, and market intelligence initiatives.
- Translate customer challenges and market opportunities into actionable product strategies.
- Implement formal intake and evaluation processes for feature requests, bugs, enhancements, and strategic initiatives.
- Serve as the voice of the customer throughout the product lifecycle.
Product Strategy & Roadmap Ownership
- Define and execute product vision, strategy, and roadmap across multiple products and business initiatives.
- Maintain short-term, mid-term, and long-term roadmap planning processes.
- Establish prioritization frameworks and decision-making criteria to ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Evaluate market trends, competitive dynamics, and emerging technologies to identify growth opportunities.
Product Requirements & Engineering Collaboration
- Define standards for product requirements documentation, acceptance criteria, and feature specifications.
- Build strong partnerships with Engineering leadership to establish effective product-development workflows.
- Create processes for scope management, change control, and decision escalation.
- Drive collaboration between Product, Engineering, Design, and other stakeholders to ensure successful product delivery.
Product Performance & Continuous Improvement
- Define product and feature-level KPIs and success metrics.
- Implement post-launch review processes and continuous improvement practices.
- Promote a data-driven, hypothesis-based product culture focused on measurable outcomes.
- Analyze customer adoption, usage patterns, and business impact to guide future investments.
AI-Powered Product Operations
- Establish AI-enabled workflows across the Product Management organization.
- Leverage AI tools to improve efficiency in requirements generation, competitive research, customer feedback analysis, user story development, and product documentation.
- Define best practices for AI-assisted product management while maintaining appropriate human oversight and decision-making.
- Mentor team members on effective AI utilization and emerging technologies.
AI Product Strategy & Innovation
- Drive strategy and execution for AI-powered product capabilities.
- Evaluate AI opportunities by assessing customer value, technical feasibility, data requirements, and market potential.
- Develop frameworks for measuring AI feature effectiveness and customer outcomes.
- Stay current on advancements in AI, machine learning, cloud infrastructure, and enterprise software markets.
Leadership & Cross-Functional Influence
- Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing Product Management team.
- Partner with executive leadership on strategic planning, investment decisions, and organizational growth initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with Engineering leadership to improve delivery effectiveness and product quality.
- Present product strategies, roadmaps, and business cases to executive stakeholders and board-level audiences.
Required Qualifications
- 8 years of Product Management experience within enterprise software environments.
- Minimum 3 years of people management experience leading Product Managers.
- Proven experience building and scaling a Product Management function from the ground up, including processes, frameworks, governance, and team development.
- Strong background in enterprise B2B software products.
- Experience working with technically complex products and sophisticated enterprise customers.
- Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure, cloud services, cloud migration, data center technologies, or related enterprise technology domains.
- Demonstrated expertise in customer discovery, market analysis, roadmap development, and product prioritization.
- Strong experience partnering with Engineering leadership and cross-functional teams.
- Experience defining, launching, and managing AI-powered products or features.
- Practical experience incorporating AI tools into product management workflows and operations.
- Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to influence executive leadership and communicate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

- Experience serving as the most senior Product Management leader within an organization.
