Established (75 years) Premier AM Law 200 Firm Seeking Senior Trusts and Estates Attorney in CA, AZ, or Washington D.C.
An established AM Law 200 firm with over 75 years in practice is seeking a Senior Trusts and Estates Attorney with 5 years of estate planning experience to join its Tax Practice Team in California, Arizona, or Washington D.C. This attorney will work directly with high net worth clients to design and implement comprehensive estate plans, draft and review sophisticated estate planning documents, and assist in probate and trust administration. Experience with international planning, Form 706 estate tax returns, and advising clients on complex tax strategies is highly preferred. Candidates with a tax background (LL.M or CPA) and those fluent in Spanish or Vietnamese are strongly encouraged to apply.
Offer
Salary range: $200,000-$275,000 depending on experience, with total potential compensation up to $335,000 annually
1850 billable hour requirement with premium collections bonus
10 percent origination bonus
Subjective bonus
401(k) plan available (profit sharing excluded for attorneys)
Full benefits including an HMO plan at no charge
Hybrid schedule with 3 days onsite for most roles, depending on location
Qualifications
5 years of trusts and estates experience involving high net worth clients
Experience drafting trusts, wills, powers of attorney, and estate planning documents
Experience with probate and trust administration, including Form 706
Strong tax knowledge preferred (LL.M or CPA)
California, D.C., or Arizona Bar depending on location
Exceptional writing, drafting, and client counseling skills
Bilingual candidates preferred
Responsibilities
Design and implement estate plans for high net worth individuals
Draft revocable and irrevocable trusts, wills, deeds, and related documents
Handle trust and probate administration matters
Prepare or assist with Form 706 estate tax returns
Advise clients on estate and gift tax planning
Work closely with partners for mentorship and development
Build long term client relationships and support practice growth
