Traveling Safety Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated HSE Specialist to support and promote a culture of safety across multiple mechanical construction projects. This role is responsible for implementing health, safety, and environmental programs, ensuring regulatory compliance, conducting field audits, and partnering with operations teams to maintain a safe and productive work environment.

The ideal candidate is passionate about workforce safety, proactive risk management, and developing strong relationships with field personnel, project teams, subcontractors, and clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct project site safety audits, inspections, and hazard assessments.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, local, client, and company safety requirements.
• Facilitate safety orientations, toolbox talks, and ongoing safety training.
• Investigate incidents, near misses, and injuries while developing corrective action plans.
• Support project teams with Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and safety planning activities.
• Monitor subcontractor compliance with project safety requirements.
• Track safety metrics and prepare required reports and documentation.
• Assist in the development and implementation of company safety programs and procedures.
• Participate in project meetings and provide safety recommendations.
• Support environmental compliance initiatives and regulatory requirements.
• Promote a positive safety culture throughout the organization.
• Serve as a resource for field leadership regarding safety-related concerns and best practices.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
• 3 years of construction safety experience.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety practices.
• Experience conducting audits, investigations, and safety training.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Certifications such as OSHA 30, CHST, CSP, or equivalent preferred.
