The Director of Surveying will oversee and manage all surveying operations within the organization, ensuring high-quality standards in project execution and compliance with regulatory requirements. This position requires strategic leadership to drive project success, enhance client relations, and foster a culture of innovation and efficiency in surveying practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the surveying department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality surveying services on time and within budget.
- Oversee project management activities, including planning, execution, and monitoring of surveying projects.
- Utilize Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for mapping and analyzing land use and environmental data.
- Conduct field surveys and environmental assessments to gather data and inform planning decisions.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies, to ensure project compliance and satisfaction.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to surveying staff, promoting professional development and best practices within the team.
- Manage client relations to foster strong partnerships and ensure ongoing business opportunities.
- Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
- Professional licensure in surveying is required.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in surveying, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of project management principles and methodologies.
- Proficiency in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and related software.
- Experience with land use planning and environmental assessments.
- Excellent data analysis skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively manage client relations and regulatory compliance.
