Sr. Buyer (Electronics)

Title: Senior Buyer
Location: Walpole, MA
Salary Range: $90K - $110K (DOE)

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with suppliers and vendors
• Negotiate pricing, lead times, and contract terms to achieve optimal value
• Develop long-term supplier partnerships to ensure supply continuity and performance
• Develop and execute sourcing strategies aligned with business objectives
• Collaborate with internal teams to forecast demand and maintain optimal inventory levels
• Analyze market trends and supplier performance to drive cost savings and mitigate risk
• Lead contract negotiations and ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirements
• Support audits and maintain supplier performance standards
• Monitor inventory levels and manage purchasing budgets effectively
• Identify and implement cost-reduction and process improvement initiatives
• Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and environmental standards
• Mitigate supply chain risk through contingency planning and supplier diversification
• Prepare and present reports on procurement metrics, cost savings, and supplier performance
• Partner cross-functionally to resolve supply, quality, and delivery challenges
• Mentor and support junior team members as needed

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 5 years of procurement or purchasing experience, ideally within manufacturing or a technical environment
• Experience purchasing electronic assemblies, wire assemblies, and mechanical assemblies (Desired)
• Strong experience in supplier management and contract negotiation
• Experience with international sourcing and complex procurement processes
• ERP system experience (SAP, Oracle, Epicor, or similar)
• Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Knowledge of procurement best practices, sourcing strategies, and market trends
