Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled React Developer with a strong focus on three.js and WebGL to design and build interactive 3D web and mobile applications for medical imaging and spatial computing. You will work with TypeScript, React, React Native/Expo, and native modules to create high-performance visualizations, animations, and data-driven UIs that support clinical and healthcare workflows. The role combines front-end engineering, performance optimization, and domain-driven collaboration with imaging and data teams to deliver reliable, secure, and maintainable products.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement interactive 3D visualizations and UIs using React, three.js and WebGL.
- Develop reusable TypeScript React components for web and React Native (Expo) apps, and build or integrate native modules for iOS and Android when needed.
- Optimize rendering and runtime performance for complex scenes and large datasets: profiling, GPU/CPU optimization, LOD, batching, and memory management.
- Implement data-driven visualization pipelines and interactive animations that surface medical imaging and spatial data clearly and responsively.
- Collaborate with product, design, and clinical stakeholders to translate requirements into intuitive visualizations and user experiences.
- Integrate imaging data formats and services, work with DICOM or other healthcare data sources, and ensure secure handling of sensitive data.
- Establish and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automated tests, and code quality practices (unit, integration, and end-to-end) for web and mobile delivery.
- Write clean, well-documented, and testable code; participate in code reviews.
- Prototype new approaches for spatial computing, rendering techniques, and shader development to improve visual fidelity and interactivity.
- Manage code and releases using Git, and coordinate cross-platform feature parity between web and native apps.
- Troubleshoot platform-specific issues, implement fallback strategies, and ensure accessibility and usability for clinical users.
- Maintain technical documentation, performance baselines, and deployment guides; contribute to regulatory and privacy compliance activities as applicable.
Qualifications
- Professional experience building production React applications; demonstrable experience with three.js.
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript, with experience designing typed component APIs and large codebases.
- Experience with React Native and Expo; comfortable building or integrating native modules on iOS and Android.
- Familiarity with medical imaging concepts, DICOM, PACS, or other healthcare data standards is highly desirable.
- Hands-on experience with Git, CI/CD tooling, automated testing, and release processes.
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience; a portfolio or code samples showcasing 3D visualization work is preferred.
- Understanding of security and privacy concerns related to healthcare data (e.g., HIPAA awareness) and experience building compliant solutions is a plus.
