Senior Heavy Civil Estimator

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Estimator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately estimating costs for construction projects, particularly in the municipal sector, with a focus on underground utilities, sewer, piping, asphalt, concrete, paving, flatwork, earthwork, and roadway. This role requires a deep understanding of construction processes, ability to analyze project specifications, and provide detailed cost estimates to ensure project feasibility and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze project plans and specifications to develop accurate cost estimates.
• Prepare detailed bid proposals and cost estimates for municipal construction projects.
• Collaborate with project managers and engineers to gather necessary information for accurate estimating.
• Assess risks and provide recommendations for cost management.
• Maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain pricing and technical information.
• Review and evaluate subcontractor bids for completeness and accuracy.
• Utilize estimating software and tools to streamline the estimating process and improve accuracy.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in estimating for construction projects, with a focus on municipal work.
• Strong knowledge of estimating techniques and methodologies.
• Proficiency in estimating software and tools (HCSS preferred but not required).
• Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with team members and clients.
