Senior Civil Engineer

Position Overview

The Senior Civil Engineer will oversee and manage civil engineering projects from conception to completion. This role involves collaborating with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and sustainability. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in municipal engineering and a strong background in project management, as well as a commitment to fostering business development and environmental stewardship.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning and design of civil engineering projects, including wastewater treatment plants, distribution systems, pump stations, and stormwater management systems.
• Prepare and review cost estimates, project proposals, and bidding documents to ensure competitive and accurate submissions.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources while ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and standards.
• Collaborate with municipal clients and stakeholders to define project objectives and deliverables.
• Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies to inform project design and implementation strategies.
• Supervise and mentor junior engineers and technical staff, providing guidance on engineering principles and best practices.
• Participate in business development activities, including networking, client presentations, and proposal writing to secure new projects.
• Utilize AutoCAD and other design tools to create detailed engineering plans and specifications.
• Ensure that all engineering solutions consider environmental impacts and sustainability principles.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or ability to obtain within one year.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in civil engineering, with a focus on municipal projects.
• Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, practices, and design standards.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and other engineering design software.
• Experience in project management and leading multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven track record in client relations and business development.
• Familiarity with environmental regulations and sustainability practices related to civil engineering.
