Position Overview
The Senior Architect Public Safety will lead the design and development of public safety facilities, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and standards. This role involves collaboration with various stakeholders to create innovative architectural solutions that meet the needs of police and fire stations while enhancing community safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the architectural design and development of public safety facilities including police and fire stations.
- Prepare and review construction documents and specifications to ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable codes.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to determine project requirements and design solutions.
- Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies to inform design decisions.
- Ensure designs meet ADA requirements and international building codes.
- Oversee construction administration and site inspections to ensure design fidelity during construction.
- Engage with stakeholders to gather requirements and provide updates on project progress.
- Utilize Revit and other design software for creating architectural models and drawings.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or related field.
- 10 years of experience in architectural design, with 5 years working on public safety facilities.
- Proficiency in Revit and Bluebeam; experience with Procore and Sketchup is a plus.
- Strong understanding of construction documents and blueprints.
- Knowledge of emergency management principles and risk assessment.
- Experience in stakeholder engagement and project management.
- Familiarity with compliance standards and interoperability in public safety contexts.
