The Safety Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. This role includes assessing safety risks, ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations, and promoting a culture of safety within the organization, particularly in relation to Intelligent Transportation Systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement safety policies and procedures in compliance with OSHA regulations.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Provide training and guidance to employees on safety practices and emergency procedures.
- Collaborate with project managers and teams to integrate safety considerations into project planning and execution.
- Analyze safety data and prepare reports to senior management on safety performance and improvement opportunities.
- Stay updated on industry trends and changes in safety regulations, particularly in relation to Intelligent Transportation Systems.
- Bachelor's degree in Safety Management, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Safety Manager or similar role, with a strong understanding of OSHA regulations.
- Experience working with Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and knowledge of safety regulations related to transportation.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to train and motivate staff on safety practices.
- Certification in safety management (e.g., CSP, CIH) is preferred. Knowledge of additional areas such as Naval, Industrial, Transportation, Airport, Air, ITS, Electrical, and Lighting is a plus.
