The Reliability Engineer will play a critical role in ensuring the long-term performance and durability of advanced electro-mechanical systems. This position focuses on designing and executing reliability testing, analyzing failure mechanisms, and driving continuous improvements in product design and maintenance strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute accelerated life tests and long-duration reliability experiments
- Analyze test data to identify failure modes and recommend design improvements
- Lead FMEA, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and reliability risk assessments
- Quantify and report reliability metrics such as MTBF, L10 life, and grease life
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement design-for-reliability principles
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards (UL, CSA, NEMA)
- Maintain and improve reliability testing infrastructure and documentation
- Support lab accreditation efforts and ensure testing meets ISO 17025 standards
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Reliability Engineering, or related field
- 3-5 years of experience in reliability engineering for rotating machinery or electro-mechanical systems
- Proficiency in statistical reliability analysis tools (e.g., Weibull, FMEA, MTBF)
- Experience with long-duration and accelerated life testing
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory compliance
- Strong data analysis skills (Excel, Minitab, Python, MATLAB, etc.)
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities
- Experience with bearing technologies (steel and hybrid ceramic)
- Knowledge of stator winding reliability and PCB-based motor architecture
- Background in electronics reliability and thermal management
- Exposure to ISO 17025 lab environments
