The Radio Network Engineer is responsible for supporting hosted infrastructure including compute, storage, virtualization, networking, and applications both on-prem and in Azure GovCloud.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, design, troubleshoot, and optimize network configurations and architectures.
- Manage Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls; install, configure, operate, and troubleshoot high availability routed and switched networks.
- Manage design, configuration, optimization and enhancement of two networks with more than 100 remote sites, telecommunications (local and wide area networking, Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and web-based technologies).
- Manages Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls; installs, configures, operates, and troubleshoots high availability routed and switched networks.
- Conduct RF propagation analysis to optimize the coverage and performance of radio communication systems.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for tactical radio systems and network issues.
- Collaborate with military and public safety stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver tailored communication solutions.
- Ensure compliance with Department of Defense standards and protocols for secure communications.
- Participate in project management activities to oversee network deployment and integration.
- Perform regular maintenance and upgrades to radio network infrastructure.
- Top Secret security clearance required.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proficient with with ISR 4000 Series Routers, Cisco Nexus Switches, Cisco ASA firewalls, Knowledge on build in Firepower, Cisco AnyConnect VPN, Cisco FTD firewalls, Managing FTD firewalls via Cisco's FMC, Implementing URL filtering rules, Implementing SSL Inspection, Cisco ISE
- Proven experience as a Network Engineer, with a focus on tactical radio systems.
- Experience with radio frequency principles and tactical radio applications.
- Familiarity with network security best practices and protocols.
- Ability to design and implement network infrastructure and support systems integration efforts.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills in IP networking and wireless communications.
