Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager for MEP/HVAC projects to lead commercial construction assignments from pre-construction through close-out. The role is responsible for successfully delivering mechanical and electrical systems that meet schedule, budget, quality, and safety targets while maintaining excellent client relationships. The ideal candidate combines handson MEP/HVAC technical knowledge with proven project management skills in commercial construction environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead full project lifecycle for MEP and HVAC scopes on commercial construction projects, including planning, procurement, execution, commissioning, and close-out.
• Develop and manage project schedules, budgets and forecasts; monitor progress and implement corrective actions to achieve project targets.
• Coordinate and manage subcontractors, vendors and internal discipline leads (mechanical, electrical, controls) to ensure timely, compliant delivery.
• Perform design reviews and value engineering to ensure constructability and costeffective solutions while maintaining performance requirements.
• Administer contracts, prepare and process change orders, and ensure accurate documentation of project records.
• Oversee quality control and inspection programs, enforce safety policies and ensure compliance with codes, standards and client requirements.
• Serve as the primary client and stakeholder contact for project status, risk mitigation, and technical decision making; maintain strong client relationships and proactively address concerns.
• Collaborate with estimating and preconstruction teams to support accurate scopes, budgets and proposals for new work.
• Coordinate commissioning, start-up and system performance testing; review as-built drawings and warranty documentation for handover.
• Mentor and develop junior project staff, promoting best practices in project management and MEP/HVAC execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 7 years of progressive project management experience delivering MEP/HVAC systems in commercial construction projects.
• Demonstrated technical knowledge of HVAC systems, mechanical and electrical installations, controls, and associated construction practices.
• Strong experience with project scheduling and cost controls (MS Project, Primavera or equivalent) and familiarity with BIM/Revit workflows.
• Thorough knowledge of relevant codes and standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, NEC and local building codes) and commissioning practices.
• Proven ability to manage subcontractors, produce and administer change orders, and maintain accurate project documentation.
• Excellent leadership, communication and client management skills with a resultsoriented approach to problem solving.
• PMP certification or Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus.
• Willingness to travel to job sites as required and work flexible hours to meet project needs.
