Professional Liability Partner - Los Angeles
A nationally recognized law firm is expanding its Los Angeles practice and seeking a seasoned Professional Liability Partner to lead, shape, and grow a sophisticated defense practice - with the platform, resources, and autonomy to do it on your terms.
What you'll do:
- Lead the Professional Liability practice, setting strategy and driving sustainable growth across the Los Angeles market and firm-wide
- Manage complex defense matters from inception through resolution, including coverage analysis, depositions, motions, and trial
- Develop and maintain trusted relationships with insurers, insured professionals, brokers, and corporate clients
- Mentor and supervise associates and support staff, building a high-performing team culture
- Drive business development and client expansion, including cross-selling across the firm's national practice groups
- Collaborate with firm leadership on strategic initiatives and cross-office opportunities
- Serve as a go-to advisor on sophisticated professional liability matters for clients and colleagues alike
What you need:
- Active California Bar membership in good standing
- 10 years of professional liability defense experience
- Demonstrated litigation skills and experience managing complex, multi-phase matters
- Proven ability to lead teams, manage client relationships, and contribute to business development
Nice to have:
- Experience representing insurers and/or insured professionals (healthcare, legal, financial, or design professionals)
- Existing portable book of business (welcomed but not required)
- Prior experience mentoring junior attorneys in a law firm setting
Location & schedule:
Los Angeles, CA - Hybrid
Collaboration with attorneys across multiple national offices.
