Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Paralegal to provide litigation-focused support to our legal team. The ideal candidate will manage case files, assist attorneys with discovery and trial preparation, draft pleadings and correspondence, and maintain court and calendaring deadlines. This role requires strong litigation and paralegal skills, excellent organization, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide litigation support to attorneys, including case intake, file management, and calendaring of critical deadlines.
• Prepare and draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, and correspondence under attorney supervision.
• Manage and organize document production, e-discovery, and electronic case files; review documents for responsiveness and privilege.
• Coordinate with clients, witnesses, medical providers, opposing counsel, and court personnel; conduct client interviews and maintain regular client communication.
• Assist with trial preparation: organize exhibits, prepare witness binders, draft trial notebooks, and support attorneys at hearings and trials.
• Conduct legal research and summarize case law, statutes, and regulations relevant to active matters.
• Prepare and file court documents and e-file pleadings in state and federal courts; monitor docket activity and respond to notices.
• Assist in case strategy and investigation by gathering and summarizing facts, drafting timelines, and locating supporting evidence.
• Maintain accurate billing records and prepare time entries, invoices, and fee-related documentation as needed.
• Support senior paralegals and associates on special projects, ad hoc assignments, and document improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Required: Proven paralegal experience with a strong litigation focus; demonstrable skills in Litigation and Paralegal work.
• Associate degree in Paralegal Studies, bachelors degree, or equivalent legal education; paralegal certification (e.g., NALA, NFPA) preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of experience supporting litigation matters; experience in civil litigation or defense-oriented practices preferred.
• Familiarity with court procedures, civil rules of procedure, discovery practice, and e-filing systems.
• Proficiency with legal research tools (Westlaw, LexisNexis), e-discovery platforms, document management systems, and Microsoft Office suite.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize multiple matters under tight deadlines.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team while maintaining client confidentiality and professional judgment.
• Nice-to-have: experience or exposure to Personal Injury, Auto/motor vehicle accidents, Slip and Fall, Construction defect, Employment and Defense matters.
• Nice-to-have: prior experience working with associates or as a second-chair paralegal supporting trial teams.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred for site visits and client meetings when required.
