An established general contractor is seeking an experienced MEP Manager to lead all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing coordination across a diverse portfolio of commercial construction projects. This individual will play a critical role in aligning engineering requirements with field operations, ensuring systems are designed, procured, and installed in line with project goals, budgets, and timelines.

The ideal candidate brings a blend of engineering expertise and general contracting experience, with strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

• Serve as the primary point of contact between MEP subcontractors, internal project teams, design partners, and clients.
• Develop detailed scopes of work and responsibility matrices for all MEP packages.
• Review subcontractor proposals and change orders, verify accuracy, and support award recommendations.
• Lead value engineering efforts for MEP systems and help ownership teams make informed decisions that meet budget and functional needs.
• Identify long-lead materials and manage early procurement strategies to protect the project schedule.
• Participate in design coordination meetings from early stages through completion, and support project management and VDC teams with outstanding MEP issues.
• Track design constraints, coordinate resolutions, and maintain alignment between design progress and schedule requirements.
• Establish quality checkpoints to confirm compliance with project plans, specifications, and engineering standards.
• Provide regular cost updates and document changes tied to design or field conditions.
• Assist with phasing strategies, construction sequencing, and site logistics.
• Help resolve conflicts among MEP trades and promote collaborative solutions.
• Participate in testing, commissioning, and owner training for MEP systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent technical education and construction experience.
• 2 years of commercial construction experience with strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, schematics, and technical specifications.
• Experience working with or for a general contractor is strongly preferred.
• Strong communication and coordination skills across multiple teams.
