- Analyze complex project plans and specifications to determine scope for plumbing, hydronic, and fire-protection system replacements
- Develop accurate estimates and proposals for repipe and remodel projects in multi-family buildings
- Lead bid strategy, scope development, and proposal writing
- Present proposals to clients and maintain strong relationships throughout the bid process
- Manage subcontractor communications and evaluate quotes for best value
- Track actual vs. estimated costs to refine future bid strategies
- Collaborate with engineering, pre-construction, marketing, and operations teams
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance estimating accuracy and efficiency
Required:
- 5 years of experience in plumbing, mechanical, or related estimating roles
- Proven success estimating projects ranging from $1M to $100M
- Strong technical writing and proposal development skills
- Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., RSMeans, Quotesoft)
- High school diploma or GED
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
- Ability to travel nationally for short durations
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- Professional certification in estimating or construction management
- MEP engineering drafting experience
- Spanish language proficiency
- Prior trade, military, or civil service experience
