Position Overview
The Mechanical Estimator will be responsible for accurately assessing project costs related to mechanical systems in various construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical estimation and will work closely with project managers and engineers to ensure that all estimates meet project specifications and budgetary constraints.
Key Responsibilities
- Review project plans and specifications to determine mechanical system requirements
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for mechanical systems including HVAC and plumbing
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure estimates align with project budgets and timelines
- Analyze labor, material, and overhead costs to prepare comprehensive estimates
- Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits to gather necessary information for accurate estimation
- Provide input on value engineering opportunities and cost-saving measures
- Maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers for accurate pricing and project insights
- Assist in the preparation of bid proposals and presentations
Qualifications
- 3 years Mechanical Estimating experience
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC and plumbing
- Experience in healthcare construction projects, such as medical centers or hospitals required
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively
