Maintenance Supervisor / Team Supervisor : OVERNIGHT SHIFT
The Overnight Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing maintenance activities during the overnight shift to ensure the safe, efficient, and continuous operation of production equipment and facility systems.
This role provides leadership to the maintenance team, ensures compliance with food safety and regulatory standards, and supports production goals by minimizing downtime and optimizing equipment performance.
Ideally qualified individuals, will bring with them as MUCH of the following, and the ability to perform the following:
Supervision & Leadership:
- Lead and manage a team of maintenance technicians during the overnight shift.
- Assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure timely completion of work orders.
- Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback to team members.
Equipment Maintenance & Reliability:
- Oversee preventive maintenance (PM) schedules and ensure compliance.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and automation systems.
- Coordinate emergency repairs to minimize production downtime.
Safety & Compliance:
- Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with OSHA, GMP, and food safety standards.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
- Support audits and inspections as required.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and reduce costs.
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams on process improvements.
Communication & Reporting:
- Communicate shift activities, issues, and resolutions to day-shift leadership.
- Prepare and submit maintenance reports and KPIs.
Education
:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree or certification preferred.
- Priority Consideration will be given to those with:
- Associates or Technical Degree in applicable field
- Experience in meat processing and packaging plant.
- Wastewater, water treatment, refrigeration, boiler, and/or engine/machine room experience
- Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management System(CMMS) and Scheduling Software.
Experience:
3 years of equipment maintenance in manufacturing, including hydraulics, pneumatics, & electronics; leadership experience
- 3 years of maintenance experience in a food manufacturing or consumer products environment.
- 1 years in a supervisory or lead role.
Skills:
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, electronics, and/or electrical/mechanical systems, equipment, processes, and tools.
- Knowledge of PLCs, automation systems, and CMMS software.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work overnight shifts and weekends as needed.
- Frequent standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Exposure to cold/hot environments, noise, and food-grade chemicals.
