What You Will Be Doing
- The incumbent supervises the work of all the maintenance personnel, lubrication and general inspections.
- The Maintenance Superintendent works in close relationship with the Production Superintendent with respect to the priority and scheduling of inspection and repair work.
- The incumbent also analyzes mechanical failures and problems, recommends change and follow up on the implementation of agreed to changes and improvements.
- The Maintenance Superintendent ensures that the Maintenance Administrator maintains files on equipment wear, oil analysis, etc. This information is used for the purpose of predicting component replacements in order to achieve the maximum service life.
- The incumbent is responsible for being on call on a rotating basis to cover plant problems.
- The Maintenance Superintendent also communicates daily with the Production Department in order to identify problems encountered during the previous shifts.
- The incumbent reviews the previous night's incidents and will recommend the necessary repairs required at the daily morning meeting.
- The incumbent also assists the Maintenance Supervisors training of the repair staff through on-the-job classroom training.
- Reliability of all plant equipment through continuing inspections
- Anticipation of parts required and production downtime for repairs.
- Adequate lubrication of plant machinery.
- Train and motivate employees to work safely and productively.
- Conduct/attend weekly safety meetings and inspect his/her area daily for unsafe working conditions. Promotes and instills a positive attitude of and to the workforce to reduce possibility of accidents and eliminate lost time injuries.
- Ensure the application of the company's health, safety and plant rules, apply or recommend disciplinary action for violations of the same.
- Ensure compliance of all environmental rules, conditions and procedures.
- Minimum of High School Diploma
- 5 Years in a Maintenance Role (Cement Preferred)
