Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Litigation Attorney to manage and litigate complex civil matters from intake through trial. The successful candidate will prepare cases for trial, handle discovery and motion practice, represent clients in court and settlement conferences, and provide strategic legal advice to achieve favorable outcomes while upholding professional and ethical standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a diverse caseload of civil litigation matters, overseeing all phases from client intake to resolution.
- Prepare and draft pleadings, motions, briefs, settlement agreements, and other litigation documents.
- Plan and execute trial preparation, including witness preparation, exhibit organization, jury instructions, and trial strategy.
- Conduct and respond to discovery, including interrogatories, document production, depositions, and e-discovery processes.
- Appear in court for hearings, status conferences, pretrial conferences, and trial; present evidence and examine witnesses.
- Negotiate settlements and participate in mediation and other alternative dispute resolution processes.
- Provide clear, strategic counsel to clients regarding litigation risks, remedies, and potential outcomes.
- Perform legal research and deliver high-quality legal writing and analysis to support case strategy.
- Coordinate with experts, investigators, and support staff to build compelling cases and manage timelines.
- Maintain accurate case management records, meet deadlines, and ensure compliance with court rules and ethical obligations.
- Supervise, mentor, and delegate assignments to junior attorneys and paralegals as needed.
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school and active admission to the state bar.
- 3 years of civil litigation experience; trial experience and courtroom exposure strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated skills in trial preparation, litigation strategy, and case management.
- Proven ability in contract law matters, negotiation, client representation, and settlement practice.
- Strong legal writing, legal analysis, and advocacy skills with experience drafting motions, briefs, and pleadings.
- Practical experience with discovery processes, evidence presentation, and court procedures.
- Experience participating in mediation and alternative dispute resolution is preferred.
- Excellent oral communication, interpersonal skills, and client-focused approach.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail.
- Professionalism, sound judgment, and commitment to ethical practice.
