Position Overview
The IT Manager will lead the organizations technology strategy and operations, ensuring reliable, secure, and scalable IT infrastructure that supports business goals. This role combines strategic planning, hands-on technical leadership, and team management to oversee networking, cabling infrastructure, database systems, cybersecurity, and day-to-day IT services. The Director of IT will partner with business leaders to drive digital initiatives, improve operational efficiency, and maintain compliance and resiliency.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the IT strategy and roadmap aligned with business objectives, driving innovation and continuous improvement.
- Manage all IT operations including network infrastructure, cabling and cable management, data center/hosted services, and end-user support.
- Design, deploy, and maintain networking solutions using Cisco and Meraki platforms; ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Oversee SQL database administration practices and collaborate with DBAs and developers to ensure data integrity, performance tuning, backup, and recovery processes.
- Lead planning and implementation of structured cabling projects, upgrades, and repairs to support current and future connectivity needs.
- Establish and enforce IT policies, standards, and procedures for security, change management, and incident response; maintain regulatory and compliance requirements.
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans, conduct regular testing and improvements.
- Manage vendor and service provider relationships, negotiate contracts, and oversee procurement for hardware, software, and services.
- Prepare and manage the IT budget, forecast expenditures, and identify opportunities to reduce cost while improving service delivery.
- Recruit, mentor, and lead IT managers, engineers, and support staff; foster a collaborative, high-performance team culture.
- Drive cross-functional projects and serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on technology risks and opportunities.
- Monitor KPIs and service-level metrics; continuously optimize processes and technology to improve uptime, security, and user satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 8 years of progressive IT leadership experience, including prior roles as IT Manager or IT Director.
- Proven hands-on experience with enterprise networking and connectivity, including Cisco and Meraki platforms.
- Experience designing and managing structured cabling (cable/CAB) infrastructure and related projects.
- Strong SQL skills and experience with database administration, performance tuning, backups, and recovery.
- Demonstrated expertise in cybersecurity, incident response, and regulatory compliance frameworks.
- Experience with IT budgeting, vendor management, and contract negotiations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
- Relevant certifications preferred (e.g., CCNA/CCNP, Cisco Meraki Certification, ITIL, PMP, Microsoft SQL certifications).
- Proven track record of delivering large IT projects on-time and within budget, with strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
