Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Heavy Civil Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates for heavy civil construction projects, including earthwork, demolition, retaining walls, underground utilities, concrete, and paving. This role requires strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of construction processes to ensure successful project bidding and execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and requirements to prepare comprehensive estimates.
• Conduct takeoffs for various construction components including earthwork, demolition, and concrete.
• Collaborate with project managers and engineers to gather necessary information for accurate estimates.
• Prepare bid proposals and submit them within deadlines to secure projects.
• Monitor and update project costs and budgets throughout the project lifecycle.
• Provide input on project scheduling and resource allocation based on estimates.
• Maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing and ensure quality work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a heavy civil estimator in the construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of heavy civil construction methods and materials, including earthwork, demolition, and paving.
• Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent analytical and mathematical skills to provide accurate estimates.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills to work effectively with clients and subcontractors.
