CNC Grinding Specialist/Grinder Operator

• Direct Hire/Perm
• Day shift, Monday through Friday
• Pay offered in the $25-30/hour range, ideally, but with possible flexibility.
  
  

The Grinder Setup/Operator, will work with the grinding/polishing equipment to smooth parts in the manufacturing process in our fabrication/machine shop environment, located in the San Mateo, CA area.

In our facility, we manufacture parts made of hard metals for customers in various industries ( Energy, Aerospace, Medical, Semiconductor, etc.)

Some Of The General Responsibilities For This Role, Include

• Operate polishing/lapping machines/grinders)
• Set up machines/lathes
• Work with measuring tools
• Perform Quality Control functions (SPC, non-conforming, inspection, etc.)
• Execute tasks and duties as required by the Quality System
• Maintain accurate, legible and complete Quality and Process documentation
  
  

What You Need for this Position

We are looking for those candidates that have specific experience performing hands on grinding and lapping for manufacturing companies.

We would love to see any candidates that have all or most of the following:

• 2 years of experience in grinding hard metals
• Specific experience grinding/smoothing, working with Parts for various industries ( Energy, Aerospace, Medical, Semiconductor, etc.)
• The specific ability to troubleshoot, identify root cause to reduce needs to grind parts
• Those with the technical aptitude, ability to work through rework, and determine new and better processes
• Those who have worked among or partnered with machine shops (grinding usually goes hand in hand with CNC machining) to get out high quality, on time product. TIGHT/Short Deadlines experience!
• Those with the creativity/ability to work with R&D on new product develop to come up with new formulations and processes for new product development.
• Would be willing and able to train others to help in the department as back ups, for example, and participate in cross training efforts
