Embedded Hardware Engineer
Job Title: Embedded Hardware Engineer
Location: On-site (Elmhurst, IL area)
Salary: $115K - $130K (DOE)
We're looking for a seasoned Embedded Hardware Engineer to join a collaborative team focused on developing high-performance embedded systems for advanced human-machine interfaces. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in hands-on design environments and enjoys solving complex engineering challenges.
Key Responsibilities:- Design and develop embedded hardware systems including microcontroller-based platforms and sensor integration.
- Create schematics, PCB layouts, and manage component selection and BOMs.
- Collaborate with firmware, mechanical, and systems engineers to ensure seamless product integration.
- Conduct testing and validation for signal integrity, EMI/EMC compliance, and environmental robustness.
- Support prototype development and transition designs into production.
- Document designs and support cross-functional teams through the product lifecycle.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
- 5 years of experience in embedded hardware design.
- Proficiency in schematic capture and PCB layout tools (e.g., Altium, OrCAD).
- Strong understanding of analog/digital circuit design, microcontrollers, and power systems.
- Experience with sensor technologies and signal processing is a plus.
- Ability to design for reliability in challenging operating conditions (e.g., temperature, moisture, vibration).
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with touchscreen or user interface hardware.
- Familiarity with quality systems and design for manufacturability.
- Hands-on lab experience with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other diagnostic tools.
- Background in product development for commercial, industrial, or specialized applications.
