Position Overview
The Electrical Designer will be responsible for designing, detailing, documenting, and modifying new and existing products using AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks under the guidance of engineering leadership. This role involves collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, and assembly teams to ensure high-quality product development.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and update electrical designs, drawings, and bills of materials (BOMs) based on established guidelines.
- Design and detail electrical assemblies from verbal instructions, sketches, or existing models.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve electrical issues during product development.
- Provide technical data to support sales, marketing, installation, and maintenance.
- Execute engineering change requests (ECRs) and support product sustainment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Associate degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, or 5 years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD; SolidWorks experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with industry standards such as UL, NFPA, and CE.
- Ability to work under close supervision and follow clearly defined instructions.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Moderate proficiency in MS Office for design calculations and reporting.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
