Electrical & Controls Designer

Position Overview

We are seeking an Electrical & Controls Designer to join our team. This role is ideal for a self-motivated, organized, and results-driven individual who enjoys solving complex challenges and delivering high-quality solutions. The ideal candidate will have experience in electrical and controls design, control panel layout, instrumentation, and CAD drafting.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical systems for industrial applications
• Create control panel layouts, loop diagrams, ladder diagrams, one-line diagrams, and conduit routing
• Perform load calculations and develop intrinsic safety circuits
• Use CAD software (AutoCAD or ePlan) to produce accurate and detailed drawings
• Ensure designs meet applicable codes, standards, and client specifications
• Prepare technical documentation, including specifications for electrical equipment and materials
• Collaborate with engineers and project teams to ensure successful project execution
• Participate in drawing reviews and peer review processes
  
  

Qualifications

• 3-8 years of experience in electrical and controls design or instrumentation
• Proficiency in control panel design and control system layout
• Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD or ePlan)
• Familiarity with drawing standards and documentation best practices
• Knowledge of applicable electrical codes and standards
• Degree in electronics, instrumentation, or controls is preferred but not required
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
