This role will involve collaborating with various stakeholders, providing strategic direction, and driving the preconstruction team to achieve excellence in project estimation and planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the preconstruction process for commercial construction projects from initial concept through to bid submission.
- Develop and manage project budgets, cost estimates, and schedules, ensuring accuracy and feasibility.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and clients to define project scope and requirements.
- Conduct site visits to assess project conditions and gather necessary information for accurate estimations.
- Prepare detailed proposals and bids, including cost analysis and value engineering options.
- Negotiate contracts and manage procurement processes with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior estimators and preconstruction team members.
- Utilize construction estimation software and tools such as Procore, Sage, and Bluebeam for project tracking and reporting.
- Engage in client interaction to ensure alignment with project goals and expectations.
- Perform risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate potential project issues.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in preconstruction and commercial construction.
- Proven experience in cost analysis, budgeting, and project management.
- Strong understanding of construction estimation software and tools, including EDGE and Microsoft Excel.
- Experience in the healthcare, public sector, and educational construction projects is preferred.
- Excellent negotiation skills and experience in contract negotiation.
- Strong leadership abilities and experience managing a team of estimators.

Salary : $150,000 - $190,000
