Controls Engineer
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Controls Engineer to design and implement control systems for our manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical and controls design, with a focus on improving efficiency and reliability in our operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop control systems for manufacturing equipment
- Create and revise electrical control panels and schematics
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with control systems and electro-mechanical systems
- Perform risk assessments and ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA79, and ANSI/ISO standards
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to identify and implement improvements
- Utilize AutoCAD electrical for circuit design and documentation
- Select appropriate materials and components for control systems
- Develop startup procedures and documentation for new equipment
- Prepare and maintain Bill of Material and budget documentation
- Implement Good Documentation Practices (GDP) as part of Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Environmental Management Systems (EMS)
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- 3 years of experience in controls engineering or related roles
- Proficient in programming logic controllers; Siemens, GE Fanuc, and Allen-Bradley (AB)
- Strong knowledge of electro-mechanical systems and operator interfaces
- Experience with HMI and PLC/PC control systems
- Familiarity with troubleshooting methodologies and circuit design
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics
- Experience with material selection and budget management
- Understanding of safety and environmental regulations in manufacturing
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
