Automation Engineer/Controls Engineer
- LOCATION - Site is just south of Macon/Warner Robins GA area, onsite work ( NO Remote/Hybrid options, work is at PLANT LOCATION)
- We are looking for multiple professionals with the below listed experience, at either an Experienced ENGINEER level, or in a more support TECHNICIAN background, all roles require strong PLC/Controls programming experience as described.
- RELOCATION ASSISTANCE is available for qualified, but NON-LOCAL applicants.
We are seeking a skilled Plant Automation Controls Engineer to join our growing team and work in a hands-on role on expanding automation and controls initiatives to improve production efficiency, support new product introductions, and implement custom machine solutions. As a senior member of the team, you will serve as the plant subject matter expert for electrical and control systems and will lead projects, mentor more junior team members, but all in a HANDS ON capacity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement automation controls to optimize plant operations and line efficiency.
- Perform root cause analysis for system control issues.
- Lead and support capital projects from concept to start-up, ensuring scope, cost, and schedule compliance.
- Drive strategic initiatives for MES, SCADA, and electrical controls; manage obsolescence and disaster recovery plans.
- Mentor engineers and technicians; maintain compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Qualifications
- DESIRED would be those with a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field, however, those with a proven hands on track record of success in the industry, in a similar role will also be considered.
- Proven experience in PLC programming and automation within a manufacturing environment
- PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi).
- SCADA systems (Ignition, Kepware, SQL).
- Servo motion control, safety systems, vision sensors.
- Project management and continuous improvement (TPM, Six Sigma, LEAN).
- Strong troubleshooting, leadership, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Strong understanding of safety standards and practices in automation
