Salary: $100,000 - $140,000 annually, depending on experience

About the Opportunity

A growing commercial concrete and pavement contractor in the Greater Charlotte area is seeking an experienced Concrete Superintendent to lead field operations across concrete construction, repair, and improvement projects.

This is a hands-on field leadership position for someone who understands concrete from the ground up and knows how to effectively manage crews, coordinate equipment and materials, maintain project schedules, and deliver high-quality work safely and efficiently.

Projects include a variety of commercial and site concrete scopes, including concrete paving, sidewalks, curbs and gutters, dumpster pads, concrete repairs and patching, drainage improvements, and other exterior concrete work.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day field operations for multiple concrete construction and repair projects.
• Supervise and coordinate field crews, subcontractors, equipment, materials, and project resources.
• Plan and manage concrete activities including site preparation, forming, reinforcing, placement, finishing, curing, and repair work.
• Manage scopes including flatwork, paving, sidewalks, curb and gutter, pads, and concrete removal/replacement.
• Coordinate manpower and equipment to maintain production goals and project schedules.
• Review project plans, specifications, and scopes of work and communicate requirements to field personnel.
• Monitor jobsite productivity, workmanship, material usage, and overall project progress.
• Coordinate concrete deliveries, equipment, inspections, and other field requirements.
• Identify and resolve field issues before they impact schedule, quality, or cost.
• Maintain strong communication with Project Managers, customers, vendors, subcontractors, and field crews.
• Enforce company safety procedures and maintain safe, organized jobsites.
• Perform quality-control inspections to ensure completed work meets plans, specifications, and company standards.
• Complete daily field reports and communicate project status, manpower, delays, and upcoming needs to management.

Qualifications

• 3 years of concrete construction experience preferred, with prior experience leading crews or supervising field operations.
• Strong knowledge of commercial concrete construction, particularly flatwork and exterior/site concrete.
• Experience with concrete paving, sidewalks, curb and gutter, pads, repairs, and removal/replacement work highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of forming, reinforcing, placement, finishing, curing, and concrete quality standards.
• Proven ability to manage crews, schedules, equipment, materials, and multiple active jobsites.
• Ability to read and understand construction drawings, plans, specifications, and scopes of work.
• Strong knowledge of jobsite safety practices and OSHA requirements.
• Excellent field leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adjust to changing project conditions.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to jobsites throughout the Greater Charlotte area.

The ideal candidate is a true concrete field professional who is comfortable taking ownership of jobs from mobilization through completion. This person should understand production, know how to lead crews, recognize quality concrete work, and be able to keep projects moving without sacrificing safety or workmanship.

Experience working for a commercial concrete, paving, sitework, or civil contractor will be particularly valuable.
