Job Summary
Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Manufacturing Automation Engineer with strong experience in Rockwell PLC programming, industrial automation, SCADA, OPC connectivity, and manufacturing system integration. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, programming, integrating, and supporting plant-floor automation systems while enabling seamless communication between PLCs, MES, SCADA, and enterprise databases.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, program, modify, and troubleshoot Rockwell/Allen-Bradley PLCs (ControlLogix, CompactLogix) using Studio 5000/RSLogix 5000.
Configure and maintain Kepware KEPServerEX and OPC UA connectivity between PLCs, SCADA, MES, and enterprise applications.
Design and support HMI/SCADA applications using FactoryTalk View (WinCC experience is a plus).
Manage bi-directional data exchange using FactoryTalk Transaction Manager and SQL databases.
Integrate shop-floor automation systems with MES and enterprise platforms.
Troubleshoot PLC, HMI, SCADA, networking, and communication issues.
Support commissioning, startup, testing, and validation of manufacturing automation systems.
Collaborate with Operations, MES, IT, and Engineering teams to improve system performance and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and manufacturing standards.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or related field.
3 years of hands-on experience in industrial automation within a manufacturing environment.
Strong experience programming Rockwell PLCs using Studio 5000/RSLogix 5000.
Experience with FactoryTalk View, FactoryTalk Transaction Manager, and Kepware KEPServerEX.
Hands-on experience with OPC UA, SQL databases, and industrial system integration.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Experience with commissioning and production support.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Siemens PLCs (S7-1200/S7-1500) using TIA Portal.
Knowledge of WinCC SCADA.
Experience in pharmaceutical, life sciences, or regulated manufacturing environments.
Familiarity with MES integration and OEE optimization.
